THE METAFORESIGH DIGITAL
APPLICATION
The digital platform and tools enable to achieve the main objective of Meta-Foresight, which is to create a system of regional intelligence by integrating the knowledge content of different intelligence development tools (technology foresight, benchmarking, databases of R&D centres and results, technology watch, market watch). Given that these tools are managed by different stakeholders in each region, the operation of the Meta-Foresight application presupposes the creation of cooperation networks between them (regional authorities, universities, technology centres, chambers, etc.). The active participation and technology cooperation are especially important for the data collection phase, which is a corner stone for the implementation of the
application.

The Meta-Foresight platform is addressed to:
(a) regional authorities and intermediary organisations, supporting their efforts to elaborate regional knowledge-based development strategies and
design appropriate actions, and
(b) companies, providing a comprehensive tool allowing to benchmark their performance, watch latest market and technology developments, forecast trends in the sector and identify centres specialising in their fields of activity.
The architecture of the application includes three main parts, each of which is implemented combining human and artificial intelligence:
1. Data collection: 'visits' automatically pre-selected Internet information sources, collects the targeted information
2. Data analysis: elaborates and integrates the different pieces of information that have been stored in the database.
3. Dissemination: diffuses the information of the database to the
public.
