What is OTRI?
FUNDECYT´s Research Results Transfer Office (OTRI), integrated into the national OTRI/OTT network of the National R&D Plan General Secretariat, is the unit in charge of promoting and managing relations between the Junta (Regional Government) of Extremadura research centres and the University with the business world. It is a service specialised in channelling the demands of companies towards technological centres and the University and the transfer of knowledge and technology towards productive sectors. It also vitalises and encourages research activities in Extremadura, stimulating the presence of business organisations in regional, national and Community programmes.
The OTRI is an optimum tool for identifying technological demand in companies in Extremadura and for carrying out a search for those demands to which research results could be applied in production processes.
The OTRI/OTT Network is the structure created by the National R&D Plan General Secretariat to put into practice the mechanisms and instruments necessary for Technology transfer, in order to obtain a greater integration into the System.
Task of the OTRI
To identify the results generated by the Junta de Extremadura Research Groups and communicate them to companies.
To support companies, especially SMEs, in the negotiation of contracts, agreements and research projects, technical aid, guidance, etc. established between the research groups and companies.
To channel the Junta de Extremadura research services to companies, facilitating collaboration between both parties.
To collaborate in the incorporation of technologists and doctors into companies.
To supply information and search for and channel requests for aid to finance the transfer of research, R&D and innovation results.
To inform, aid and support researchers and related companies and institutions in relation to innovation management.
To design, create and execute innovative projects of interest to the sector.
- Ecological Agriculture Network (RAE).
- Incorporation of ICT into Traditional Sectors (TICTRADMED).
- Virtual Technological Centre for the Iberian Pig (CTV del Cerdo Ibérico).
OTRI Services
Technical Aid
The OTRI offers technical aid and support in managing activities for local researchers and companies with relation to R&D&I issues.
Public aid for R&D& Innovation
This is one of our most important tasks, that of succeeding in our mediating activities, relating research capacities and results to potential or real demands for the services (The companies).
In this service, we offer information and documentation on programmes, announcements of aid and subsidies of interest to teachers, researchers and companies, as well as any information of interest for the implementation of research, development and technological innovation projects.
The information is organised depending on the Administration offering the aid or subsidy. Information of interest is offered: References to Programme text publications and/or announcements, as well as any forms, requirements and technical advice necessary for presenting a proposal.
- National announcements
- Regional announcements
- European announcements
Promoting and managing innovation
The aim of the service promoting innovation and innovation management is to promote, communicate and transfer knowledge from the technological to the social environment as well as training in innovation management techniques, improving processes and encouraging new activities by carrying out technological diagnoses and technological audits, particularly in the agro-industrial sector.
From the OTRI, we would like to transmit our absolute commitment to collaboration, both in assessment and reception of your proposals, so that together we can find suitable solutions for the needs of your company or institution.
Supporting Technology and Knowledge Transfer
Implementing technological development projects and research applied at the request of companies and groups in the sector will enable the complementation and comparison of basic research carried out by the Junta de Extremadura research services.
Important synergies will arise from this Technological and Knowledge Transfer, intensifying the innovative process and increasing the competitiveness of companies (and research groups). This phenomenon has been acknowledged by companies, which are giving increasing value to research activities, as well as by researchers, who need the resources supplied by industry for the necessary and constant process of capturing new knowledge and modernising installations.
FUNDECYT´s OTRI carries out these services by means of the organisation of sessions, seminars and congresses on technological transfer in sectors, publications and catalogues of research results, as well as by means of services of technological monitoring, such as the CTV of the Iberian Pig or the Institutional R&D Directory.
