FUNDECYT promotes technical research by means of this instrument, which the National Government applies a set of calls for public grants to, designed for stimulating entities able to produce research and technological development, according to the main objectives of the National Plan for Scientific Research, Technological Development and Innovation (RTD+i) 2004-2007.

The National Plan for RTD+i 2004-2007 implies a set of objectives which generally aim contributing to a major and coherent development of the Spanish Science-Technology-Enterprise System.

CDTI

FUNDECYT promotes innovation and technological development of enterprises by means of the Centre for Industrial and Technological Development (CDTI), dependent of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, and Commerce.

It contributes rising the technological level of enterprises by means of several actions. The most remarkable one among them consists of the economic-technical assessment and the funding of RTD+i projects developed by national and international companies.

TORRES QUEVEDO PROGRAMME

The Torres Quevedo Programme provides financial support for the incorporation of RTD personnel to private companies, business associations and technology centres, in order to enable them to carry out RTD projects and viability studies. These calls are financed by the European Social Fund and are carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science.

The types of projects able to be funded are:

• Industrial research projects
• Previous technical viability studies for industrial research projects
• Technological development projects
• Previous technical viability studies for technological development projects

Requirements:

• Doctors and technologists or, in other words, university graduates with at least one year working experience in RTD
• They should not be contracted by the company during the 2 previous years, nor they should have capital shared in the company.
